About Us
My family purchased the Diamond M Ranch in 1990. For the better part of the next decade my dad ran registered Texas Longhorns on the property. We’d process one every year or so, and loved knowing where our beef came from and sharing it with friends and family.
Longhorns are beautiful cattle, and we had some good ones—including a Junior Grand Champion at the Texas State Fair in "John's First Lady." Things changed one day after our neighbor's Angus bull snuck through a couple of the ancient mesquite posts still doting our fence line in order to mingle with our ladies.
The following year we processed the result, a Longhorn/Angus Cross, and never processed another Longhorn.
My folk’s final investment was a Hereford Bull and five Hereford Cows from the Buck Cattle Company in 2022, largely because my mother thought they too were beautiful. These six animals set the foundation for our current operation today.
Since taking over the property in 2023, Jesse Stephens and I have used this seed-stock to try to produce the best tasting beef cattle in North Texas. We have worked with our local agricultural agents, feed stores, fellow cattleman, and Texas A&M in College Station to improve our pasture, our stock, our feed, and our product. We are proud to share our work with you.
